Why do we exist?

TCP has evolved to serve the particular needs of adolescents and adults, many on the autistic spectrum, who have struggled in other settings to get the support they need to live purposeful, active lives, connected to other people and communities in sustaining ways.

Many teens, especially those who have social communication challenges, learning disabilities, and difficulties with emotional regulation need a more comprehensive, therapeutic scaffolding to help them grow successfully into adulthood.

Many adults who have completed high school find themselves lacking purpose, emotional resilience, and a community filled with supportive relationships.

We exist to support those adolescents and adults, and to meet their needs in a comprehensive way.

Education

Our middle and high school program is accredited by the Georgia Accrediting Commission. With our expertise in learning disabilities and information processing differences, we will create an individualized plan to help each participant strengthen their abilities to learn, to think, and to problem-solve.

Independence

We help participants develop the ability to self-advocate and navigate the world with freedom, assertiveness, and safety. Learning areas include money management, personal health management, executive functioning, transportation, computer safety, and other relevant interests.

Transition Services

Participants receive support in finding a purpose beyond high school. These experiences may include post-secondary education, internships, job support, and career development.

Family Services

We provide our community’s families with emotional and practical support, including assistance in setting goals, support groups, family counseling, and a range of educational and social opportunities.

Social Emotional
Growth

We help participants improve their emotional regulation, durability, and flexibility. With individual and group counseling and a range of experiential activities, participants often develop a stronger sense of self, and learn to manage their relationships and their individual sexuality, in healthier ways.

Wellness

We support participants in understanding and strengthening the pillars of wellness, including fitness, nutrition, hygiene, sleep, mindfulness, and medication management. An emphasis on wellness as a foundation to learning and emotional health permeates the entire program.
