Our Services
Threshold provides support services that address the needs of participants from preadolescence to adulthood. We work with the best providers in the community to ensure that the highest quality services are provided affordably. This allows every family the opportunity to experience growth and connection, without having to concurrently manage ever increasing financial burdens.
Education Support
Threshold helps to educate struggling learners in a deliberate, compassionate way that addresses their underlying processing challenges and supports the emergence of complex, logical problem-solving and critical thinking.
We also provide IEP and educational advocacy and consulting to help families navigating educational systems. We also offer college support, for those working towards secondary degrees.
Therapeutic Support
Threshold provides mental health counseling and FloorTime for individuals, couples, families and groups. We work to strengthen emotional regulation, social communication, and the ability to build and maintain relationships.
Community-Based Support
Threshold provides community-based internships and social groups by working with community organizations to provide opportunities and experiences focused on sustainable and actionable growth. Broad support categories include:
- Social-emotional modulation and regulation, including building lasting relationships
- Independent living skills, including supported outings to relevant community locations like banks and grocery stores
- Career exploration and coaching, including facilitated internships and volunteering
- General health and well-being, including physical fitness
- Executive functioning support, including daily activities, college support, and processing
Diagnostic Evaluations
Diagnostic assessments can be a powerful tool for understanding strengths, challenges, and next steps. A diagnostic assessment can be used for the following:
Access
Assessments highlight areas of strength and need (e.g., attention, social communication, processing speed) and can help tailor strategies at home, school, and in therapy. They help identify what helps an individual thrive.
- Services and Supports - Education Supports (IEPs and 504 plans), Therapeutic Services (occupational therapy, speech therapy, executive functioning, or social skills groups), and Community Resources Personalized Interventions
- Medical and Mental Health Treatment - ADHD assessment results may guide whether medication is recommended and which type would be most effective. ASD assessment results can help point toward interventions like sensory support, adaptive living skills interventions, and therapeutic services.
Awareness &
Advocacy
A clear explanation for challenges is often validating for the person being assessed and their family. Evaluative reports provide language to explain needs and advocate for accommodations in school, work, or community settings.
- Planning for the Future - Assessments can help families and providers set realistic goals for independence, social and emotional development, education, and career pathways.
- Insurance and Legal Documentation - Many insurers require a formal diagnosis to cover certain therapies. A diagnostic report can serve as documentation when applying for disability services, workplace accommodations, or government benefits.
