Support TCP

Why Support TCP?

Programs serving middle and high school students on the autism spectrum are rare, but programs serving adults are virtually nonexistent. Once an autistic teenager graduates from high school, the resources available are limited and he may not yet be ready to live independently, go to college, hold a job, or venture out into the world. While the Atlanta area is home to several organizations that serve children on the spectrum, TCP is the only program in the area—and one of only a small number nationally—focused on serving adolescents and adults in a mental health focused, comprehensive way through the transition to adulthood.

Threshold Community Program makes every effort to keep its program accessible by subsidizing tuition and offering discounts. Nevertheless, due to the highly individualized nature of our programs, running TCP is an expensive endeavor. With a 2:1 participant to staff ratio and a highly trained staff, the cost for each participant to attend TCP’s program for one year, for example, is more than $40,000.

We make up the difference between that cost and the tuition we charge in fundraising, which is why your support is so critical.

Once a teenager on the spectrum graduates from high school, the resources available are limited…

TCP is the only program in the area—and one of only a small number nationally—focused on serving adolescents and adults in a comprehensive way through the transition to adulthood.

Autism does not discriminate based on income, and affording private school tuition is difficult for many families. Because tuition does not cover the full cost of educating our participants, we need your help in order to continue providing our vital services to Atlanta’s adolescents and adults who are on the autism spectrum or who face related challenges.
